About Funshine PlaycarePlaycare is operated in our home, and is designed to serve families with children aged six months to twelve years. I am dedicated to providing enriching care in a caring environment. My mission is to operate in a manner similar to licensed child care in terms of quality, while providing the flexibility and affordability, that is equally crucial to working families. Playcare will follow some guidelines as set out in the Day Nurseries Act, such as providing nutritous snacks and meals that follow the Canadian Food Guide, adopting similar policies for disciplinary action, and providing a variety of structured activities that are enriching and allow children to exercise their sensory, fine motor, and gross motor skills. - Fenced yard - Located directly beside Grenville Park & Nature Trails - Fenced inground pool for older children, smaller pool for youngsters - Large drive way for bikes and ride on toys, large treed lot for exploration - Lots of sturdy oudoor play structures and sandbox! - Located on bus routes for Lord Strathacona & Polson Park Public Schools - Pet free, smoke free house |
QualificationsMy name is Melinda, and I am a mother of two healthy little girls, Kayleigh born in September 2006, and Sierra, born in October 2007. I hold a diploma in Child and Youth Work, which I obtained here in Kingston at St. Lawrence College in 2006. I have six rewarding years of experiene working with children of all ages in educational, residential, and community based settings. Along with a degree in CYW, I am certified in First Aid & CPR, Crisis Prevention Intervention, posess a clean CPIC, and am experienced in working with children with cognitive and behavioral disorders. FUNshine PLAYcare developed through my determination to return to the child service field while still maintaining the amount of time spent with my own children. Although operation of a child care centre is a new endeavor for me, I am approching it with knowledge, experience, compassion, and a great deal of enthusiasm. |
